As this size and style of cottage is much called for we have given several examples of its kind, varying in plan and design, most of them having been worked up from the demands of actual clients, and are intended to be models of convenience, comfort and good taste. The stair landing in these plans is a feature that adds both to the interior and exterior appearance of the design. In Plan No. 1 the stairs from the landing are enclosed with solid partitions, giving a pass and double doors between kitchen and front part of house. Thus the odors of cooking are effectively cut off from all other rooms. Interior: Hall and parlor are finished in oak; balance of rooms to be finished in paint, three-coat work. Plastering, three-coat work, hard finish. Plumbing consists of sink and pump in kitchen, bath tub and bowl, with connections, gas throughout. Outside Materials: First story clapboarded, second story and gables shingled, belt wainscoted, slate roof. Painting, three-coat work. Outside blinds throughout.
