Barber's Design Notes:

THIS LITTLE HOME erected in Pottsville, Iowa, is a model home, one and one-half stories, cellar under entire house. Second story, gables and roof are shingled. Furnace heat was used. Paint work is used for the interior in all except parlor and dining-room, which has woodwork of varnished pine. Width, 28 feet 3 inches; length, 47 feet 3 inches over porches. Stories are 9 feet and 8 feet 6 inches. Foundation may be of stone or brick, as desired. This cottage can be worked nicely with either story or both in brick veneer, but the best appearance is with only the first story so treated, shingling the second story.
